In the summer of 2023, a large-scale event started in mobile tanks "Retrotopia", which brought with it a bit of an interesting story for connoisseurs of the in-game "Laura", as well as three new tanks for everyone else. Well, not exactly new. The newbies are three existing tanks that have been fitted with retro-futuristic skins and sold for a special in-game currency — kitcoins.

Magnate is the first device that can be bought in the quest chain. Visually, this is a German Indien-Panzer in a top configuration. In the stock configuration, the turret was inherited from the early Panthers.

The device is on the seventh level, unlike its "father" which is based on the eighth.

The tycoon, like its prototype, has a newfangled barrel with an alpha of 240 units, which already quite distinguishes it from other ST-7s. Yes, this is not the highest alpha among medium tanks at the level, however, due to such one-time damage, it is already possible to effectively play using the “roll-out-roll-back” tactics. Wherein, the car has pretty good damage per minute for a similar alpha strike. Cooldown - 6.1 seconds.

Penetration among other medium tanks does not stand out in any way. For battles in the top, armor-piercing shells will often be enough. When you hit the bottom of the list, you will often have to shoot gold, while the armor of some opponents will be literally impregnable.

Shooting comfort is average. Aiming is not very fast, but the final accuracy and dispersion of shells in a circle of dispersion, with a full summary, are pleasing. Without aiming, shells, on the contrary, often fly crookedly. But there are some problems with stabilization, this is especially felt when turning the body, when the scope suddenly becomes huge.

The vertical aiming angles are not standard, but quite comfortable. Down the gun goes down by 8 degrees, which allows you to occupy the terrain, albeit not any. It rises up by 20 degrees, which will also be enough to shoot at those who are above.

The vehicle's armor is even better than the Indian Panzer had before the nerf. There are no large millimeters here, however, all the armor plates are located at angles, due to which good reduced armor is achieved.

It's safe to say that the Magnate is currently the toughest tier 7 medium tank that only a panther can compete with.

The main opponents of the tycoon should be medium tanks, some of which cannot penetrate him at all on armor-piercing ones. Single-level strands already cope better and can target the lower armor plate. And only Tier 8 vehicles have no problems with our medium tank.

However, because of those very unpleasant forms of the tycoon, when shooting at it, you can often hear a vile "ricochet".

Speed ​​and mobility

Tycoon mobility is a cross between ST and TT mobility.

The maximum forward speed of the car is 50 km/h. However, the tycoon is very reluctant to gain his maximum speed on his own. If you take it down the hill, it will go 50, but the cruising speed will be about 45 kilometers per hour.

Maximum speed back - 18 km / h. In general, this is a fairly good result. Not a gold 20, but you can still make a little mistake, drive in the wrong place, and then crawl behind cover.

The rest of the Magnate is a typical medium tank. It spins quickly in place, quickly rotates the tower, instantly responds to commands and, in general, does not feel cottony.

The best equipment and gear

Equipment is standard. A couple of remok (regular and universal) for repairs and adrenaline to increase the rate of fire.

Ammunition is standard. Large extra rations and large gasoline are mandatory, as they will significantly increase mobility and firepower. But in the third slot, you can stick either a small additional ration, or a protective set, or small gasoline. The first one will make shooting even more effective, the second one will protect the car from some crits, the third one will bring the car a little closer in terms of mobility to other MTs. The tank is not a full crit collector, so all options work.

Equipment is subjective. In the firepower slots, according to the classics, we select the rammer, stabilizer and drives. So we get maximum shooting comfort and rate of fire.

Although the third slot, that is, drives, can be replaced with a balanced weapon with a bonus to accuracy. As stated above, the tank mows without full information. With a balanced gun, it will take even longer to reduce, but the final accuracy will be really credible.

In the survivability slots, it is better to put: I - a protective complex and III - a box with tools. But in the second line you have to choose yourself. Safety equipment is a classic. But you can try to put armor, which will allow you to tank even more efficiently at the top of the list.

Specialization according to the standard - optics, twisted turns and a third slot if desired.

Ammunition - 60 shells. This is more than enough. With a cooldown of 6 seconds and an alpha of 240 units, you are unlikely to be able to shoot all the ammo. Ideally, carry 35-40 armor-piercing shells and 15-20 gold bullets. Due to the low penetration, they will have to be used quite often. Well, about 4 land mines are worth capturing in order to do more damage to cardboard targets.

How to play Magnate

Like 80% of vehicles in blitz, Magnate is a melee technique. If you are at the top of the list, then your armor will allow you to tank most of the medium tanks of your level and below. If you take a good position with an embankment or terrain, then many TT-7s will not be able to penetrate you.

Together with good mobility, this is quite enough to win back a hybrid of a medium and heavy tank at the top of the list. We arrive at a convenient position and every 6 seconds we squander the enemy on HP. The main thing to remember is that the armor is good, but not the ultimate, so it's better not to be too impudent.

But if you hit the bottom of the list by the eights, it's time to turn on the mode "rats". Most of these guys pierce you into the hull without any problems, and they can easily target you into the tower. Now you are a support tank that should stay close to the front line, but not at the very edge. We catch opponents on mistakes, support teammates and bully those who are within our power. Ideally, play exactly the flank of medium tanks, as they don't have as high penetration as heavy bands, and don't have as strong armor.

Pros and cons of a tank

Pros:

Good armor. For a medium tank, of course. Only a panther can argue with a magnate. At the top of the list, you will be tanking far more than one shot.

Balanced weapon. Sufficiently high alpha, medium penetration, good accuracy and good damage per minute - this weapon simply does not have pronounced disadvantages.

Versatility. The machine has a fairly balanced and convenient weapon, good mobility approximately at the level of slow CTs, and is not crystal. You can tank and shoot, and quickly change position.

Cons:

Insufficient mobility for ST. Mobility is not bad, but it's hard to compete with medium tanks. Having chosen the flank of the ST, you will be among the last to arrive there, that is, you will not be able to give the first shot.

Tricky tool. To some extent, all tanks in the game have capricious guns. However, Magnate sometimes really "refuses" to hit without a full mix.

Low penetration. In fact, the penetration of the magnate is normal for a medium tank of level 7. The problem is that the sevens most often play at the bottom of the list. And there such penetration will often be missed.

Conclusions

By the combination of characteristics, a very good car of the seventh level is obtained. Yes, this is far from the level Crusher и Destroyer but Magnate can hold its own in modern random. He is mobile enough to keep up with the position, has an easy-to-implement gun with a fairly high alpha, and is able to survive well due to armor.

Such a machine should go to both beginners and more experienced players. The former will be happy with high one-time damage and excellent armor, while the latter will be able to implement adequate damage per minute and the general versatility of the vehicle.
